Robert Blake was an incredible actor. Long before he turned 10 years old he was starring in his own films and showing his amazing versatility, turning his hand to comedy and drama with equal adeptness. He joined the Our Gang series of films in 1939, when he was 5, playing Mickey, and made more than 20 appearances with the gang. As a child Blake worked with the best actors in the business: John Wayne, Spencer Tracy and Humphrey Bogart, to name just a few.

His dark looks often cast him as a native American or Mexican, as in this 1948 film 'The Treasure of the Sierra Madre' which starred Humphrey Bogart, Walter Huston and Tim Holt. Blake played a Mexican boy selling lottery tickets.

As an adult Blake continued to act in films and on television with some fine performances in 'Pork Chop Hill (1959)' with Gregory Peck and 'Town Without Pity (1961)' with Kirk Douglas.

In later life Robert had problems with drugs and was also accused of murder in 2001; for which he was acquitted.
